A 29-year-old outside hitter Carla Tristán, who suffered a devastating injury 10 years ago, returned to the professional volleyball as she joined a club in her home country Jaamsa Volebol Club.

At the age of 18, she made her debut for the Peruvian National Team, competing in the 2006 FIVB World Championship in Japan, while a year later she performed in the FIVB World Cup in Japan as well.

On a club level, before the injury, Tristán played for Alianza Lima and the Spanish side Club Voleibol Alicante 2000.
