In order to find out those plans, we have contacted the General Secretary of the club Ramazan Yildirim, who has gladly accepted the interview for WorldofVolley.

Your team will be playing in the Sultans League. What are your impressions about it?

Sultans’ League is one of the most valuable volleyball leagues in the world and Turkish Airlines is the global, flagship brand of Turkey as you know. We are so excited to participate in this level which suits our brand’s vision very well. Our team had remarkable achievements promoting the upper leagues two years in a row. Our well-planned organization motivated the team members so that in such a short term we had a great chemistry and became ready to play in the Sultans’ League,” explains Ramazan Yildirim.

What is the team’s goal in the season 2018/2019?

Our current goal is to attend European Cups by finishing the league in the required position.”

Since you worked in Vakifbank, we would like to hear a comparison of Vakifbank and Turkish Airlines, regarding the organization of the club, facilities, staff, players…?

Our history, experience and club facilities are too good to compare with any other clubs. Turkish Airlines is a worldwide brand with high standards and our volleyball team’s vision is not the less.”

Are you satisfied with the current squad?

In the last two years, we tried to work not only with good players but also decent individuals. We consider our players as family members. We build up teams according to this strategy. We are so selective about our squad. This year, again we created a team that never gives up and fights until the end. Our technical staff and players are so hard-working and we are glad to have devoted members in our family.

What are the plans of the club in the future?

This is a 5-year long project and we can divide it into parts. The first part was to participate in Sultans’ League without ever losing time in lower divisions, which we had succeeded. As I said before, the second part starts with this season and our current goal is to attend European Cups by finishing the league in the required position. In 2019-20 season, our desire is to become the European Cup Champions, besides finishing Sultans’ League in a higher position to qualify for Champions League. Our final goal of this 5-year project is to win the Champions League in season 2020-21,” says Ramazan at the end of the interview for WorldofVolley.
