She will try to reach some good club overseas along with her manager Tunc Afsar. The 22-year old middle blocker is coming from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Hello Jasmin, the WorldofVolley fans are having an opportunity to get to know you better. Can you say a couple of words about yourself?
„I am an extremely outgoing person that loves life. I was raised in a family of athletes where I competed in track, basketball, and golf, but fell in love with volleyball. I love everything about the game!“
An NCAA career is over for you. How would you rate your performances and overall progress so far?
„When I first started playing volleyball, I just wanted to be good enough to get a college scholarship to a Division 1 school. After achieving that I changed my goals to wanting to be the best middle blocker in my school’s history and one of the best in the country. I achieved that so I rate my performance an 8 out of 10. I could’ve been more of an offensive threat. I just wish my team could have gone further in the NCAA tournament.“
We saw that you had many records there in your school. For example, you set a school single-season recorder, you were the best NCAA blocker – so, can you share with us your secret to success?
„I really think playing other sports helped prepare me for volleyball. For instance, basketball and golf helped with my hand/eye coordination. Basketball and track help with my anticipation, quickness, and vertical jump. I also had parents, coaches, and teammates that pushed me to be better daily. All these things along with my dedication, hard work, and preparation helped me to be successful.“
It’s time for you to start your professional career. What are your expectations?
„I am excited to start my pro career; I am looking forward to learning from a good coach and getting to know my new teammates. My goal is to learn the pro game, get better every day, and do everything I can to help my team win.“
Where would you like to play overseas? What would be a good environment for you to keep developing your volleyball skills?
„I have heard good things about Turkey and Italy, but I am willing to go anywhere to play the game that I love. I just need a good coaching staff and teammates that will assist me with the transition and language barrier.“
What are your goals in volleyball?
„My goal is to help my team win a league championship and stay healthy throughout my professional career.“
Are you dreaming of playing for the national team one day?
„It has always been a goal of mine to play for the USA national team and hopefully professional volleyball will help prepare me to achieve that goal at some point.“
