EuroVolleyU19W: Stunning clash at the tournament opening, France prevail over the host

The first day of the women’s European Championship featured a great clash between the host Croatia and France.

France managed to win a super exciting first set by two points of difference while the girls from Croatia made an answer with the similar outcome like in the first set, winning the second one 26-24. In the next two sets, we saw a great battle which caused forcing the game into the tie-break.

In the fifth set, the French girls prevailed over the host 15-7 to win the game.

The Polish team also defeated the co-host of the tournament Bosnia and Herzegovina in straight sets. Serbia beat Slovakia 3-1, while Turkey defeated Bulgaria in three sets.

Results of the FIRST day of EuroVolleyU19W:

Croatia – France 2-3 (24-26, 26-24, 14-25, 25-23, 7-15)

Serbia – Slovakia 3-1 (25-19, 25-20, 22-25, 25-20)

Bosnia and Herzegovina – Poland 0-3 (11-25, 12-25, 10-25)

Turkey – Bulgaria 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-20)

August 23:

Poland – Slovakia 17:30 CET

Belarus – Serbia 20:00 CET
