“Serbia played a very good game,” Gido Vermeulen, head coach of the Netherlands, said. “They improved a lot over this week, they did not make too many mistakes and they are really in shape. We are here with a young team, and we want to learn as much as we can from these matches.”
“Fourth victory in a row, and very important one“, Serbia head coach Zoran Terzic said. “With a win tomorrow against Algeria we are one step away from the Final Tournament. I am satisfied how my team reacted after a long trip back from Dominican Republic.”
“They served very well, and we could not respond with our reception,” Dutch captain Maret Grothues said. “Serbia played better on all levels. But, this was not us today, normally we play much better and I hope we will demonstrate it in the following matches.”
“I expected tougher resistance from the Dutch, to be honest,” Serbia’s captain Maja Ognjenovic said. “We knew that they are unpredictable, but I am happy that we were focused during the whole match. Our main goal is to qualify to the Final Tournament, and now we are very close.”
