NORCECA CH W: Teams ready for Championship to start

The NORCECA Women’s Continental Championship, set for Sept. 16-21 in the Midwestern United States city of Omaha, Nebraska, was declared ready to go by its control committee president Mr. Cristobal Marte Hoffiz after today’s preliminary inquiries, final inspection and general technical meeting.

The biennial tournament, in its 23rd edition dating back to 1969, features three round-robin pools of three teams. Matches are set for 4 p.m. CT, 6 p.m. CT and 8 p.m. CT each day (local time).

Pool A: Dominican Republic, Costa Rica and Trinidad & Tobago

Pool B: USA, Cuba and Mexico

Pool C: Puerto Rico, Canada and St. Lucia

Quarterfinal round matches are on Sept. 19th, followed by semifinals on Sept. 20th. The gold- and bronze-medal matches conclude the tournament on Sept. 21st. The winner of the tournament earns a spot in the season-ending FIVB Grand Champions Cup this November in Japan.
