Last Saturday, shortly after closing the XXXIV CEV General Assembly held at the Scandic Hotel in Copenhagen, CEV President André Meyer and Mr. Carlo Magri, President of the Italian Volleyball Federation, met for the signing of the official agreement confirming “Centro Pavesi” as Europe’s third officially recognized Regional Development Centre (RDC) by CEV and FIVB. This new centre joins Kettering (England) and Baku (Azerbaijan) whose contracts were signed in September 2011 and August 2013 respectively.

The facility is a real reference in the country as well as internationally for it hosts – among others – a dormitory to accommodate 21 people, two sports halls with one and two Volleyball courts respectively, plus two indoor and two outdoor Beach Volleyball courts. The centre and its activities are supported by the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI), the Italian Volleyball Federation (FIPAV) and its regional division in Lombardy who have all joined forces to provide it with first-class equipment and facilities.

We inspected this centre in April and I am very pleased to announce that Centro Pavesi has become our third officially recognized Regional Development Centre” says CEV President André Meyer. “This venue and its facilities stand out as a major hub for Volleyball excellence for anyone who would like to join our efforts to support the growth and long-term development of our sport across Europe.”
