“The most important thing today was that we won 3-0 and qualified for the Olympics. Today’s match was great. Japan had fighting spirit and performed well. We came to Japan to get the ticket to the Olympic Games, so we are very happy today,” said Brazilian head coach after the game with Japan.
Giba added – “We qualified for the Olympics. This was an interesting championship. I’m sad that we didn’t win this championship, but the ticket to the Olympics was the objective of this championship. So I’m happy to accomplish that.”
We know already 4 teams participating in Olympics 2012 – Great Britain, Russia, Poland and Brazil. 8 spots are free. Other teams will have to qualify in May 2012 when the next round of qualifications will take place.
