The Dutch favorites, including Stam, Van Driel, Boermans, and Immers, secured spots in the semifinals in a series of electrifying matches, each teaming up with new partners for surprising results.
Schneider/Bentele and Ludwig/Stam Take Charge in Women’s Competition
The afternoon saw intense battles for the women’s semifinal spots. German duo Schneider/Bentele dominated the first round, while Placette/Lahti-Liukkonen led the second. A dramatic comeback attempt from Bak and Garder thrilled the audience but ultimately fell short against Helland-Hansen/Kotnik.
In the evening, Laura Ludwig and Katja Stam secured their semifinal position, while Van den Vonder/Kozuch followed suit. The night ended with a dramatic sprint by Van Driel and Olimstad, clinching their spot in the last seconds. Borger/Hermannová won the final playoff for the last women’s semifinal berth.
Meeuwsen/Wickler Impress in the Men’s Division
In the men’s matches, the competition was equally fierce. Plavins/Bialokoz and Boermans/Samoilovs claimed early victories in the afternoon. Immers, paired with Dressler, won the final afternoon match.
In the evening, Robert Meeuwsen, in his last tournament on home soil, and his German partner Wickler, delivered a commanding performance. Hölting Nilsson/Berger followed with a strong sprint to win their round, and De Groot, alongside Berntsen, secured the final semifinal spot of the day, sending the crowd into celebration.
