The win means Russia move into fifth in the Group 1 standings. Victory on Sunday could see them qualify for the finals should other results go their way.

Russia also gained revenge over Turkey after they lost to the same side 3-2 on the opening weekend of this year’s tournament.

Turkey are yet to match their win ratio from last year. They have won five matches from seven and won six in 2013.

Russia remain unbeaten at home in the World Grand Prix, this being their eighth victory in total.

Best scorer in Russian team was Tatiana Kosheleva (26). Best scorer in Turkish team was Sonrisma Gozde (16).
