FRIENDLIES: Iran down Australia, Serbia beat Slovenia again, German ladies sweep Hungary

Tonight, several friendly games of Men’s and Women’s national teams were held. For instance, Iranian Men’s National Team defeated Australia in Poland.

The Asian side recovered from yesterday’s loss to Poland and beat „Volleyroos“ in four sets, partially 11-25, 25-21, 25-17, 25-20, in the „Hall of Sports and Entertainment“ in Jastrzębie-Zdrój.

The two teams came out to play with these rosters:

AustraliaRoberts, Passier, Peacock, O’Dea, Richards, Carroll, Perry (libero), (substitutes: Walker, Dosanjh, Graham, Moeller, Lipscombe).

IranEbadipour, Marouf, Ghaemi, Seyed, A. Gholami, Ghafour, Marandi (libero), (substitutes – Nazari, Salafzoun, M. Gholami, Faezi, Manavi, Vadi, Ghara, Heydari).

In a second duel of current CEV European Championship silver medalists Slovenia and FIVB World League winners Serbia in two days, the outcome was the same. The only difference was in the result, today it was 3-2 for the visitors, Serbian NT, partially 25-16, 25-21, 11-25, 20-25, 30-28).

As for Women’s friendlies we highlight the win of hosts Germany over Hungary in Oldenburg 3-0 (25-13, 25-10, 25-15) that was achieved thanks to 12 points from Maren Brinker.
