In an electrifying start, Egypt showcased their dominance by sweeping Uganda off the court in straight sets with scores of 25-13, 25-18, and 25-21.
The most nail-biting encounter was between Rwanda and Algeria. Starting off on the back foot, Rwanda was two sets down. However, showcasing sheer determination and skill, they turned the tide, winning the next three sets. The final score read Rwanda 3, Algeria 2, with set scores of 23-25, 15-25, 25-18, 25-23, and 16-14.
Kenya didn’t waste time asserting their prowess, as they handed Nigeria a straightforward defeat in straight sets. The match ended with the commanding scores of 25-14, 25-17, and 25-11 in favor of the Kenyans.
Rounding off the quarterfinals, Cameroon demonstrated their might by taking down Morocco in a clean sweep, 3-0, boasting set scores of 25-17, 25-23, and 25-18.
The stage is now set for the thrilling semi-finals. Today, fans will be treated to a face-off between Egypt and Rwanda, while Kenya will lock horns with Cameroon in a bid for a spot in the championship’s grand finale.
