CSV W: The host team of Peru overcomes Argentina 3:2

The home team of Peru at one of the semi-finals of the Youth's Girls South American Championship and after a partial victory of the host team by 2-0 Argentina found its momentum to force a tie-breaker definition. Read latest volleyball news on Worldofvolley.com.

The match ended 3-2 (25-20, 25-12, 20-25, 24-26, 15-9). Now Argentina will face Chile for the bronze medal and one place at the 2013 Thailand World Championship while Peru will play the title holder, Brazil with both teams already qualified for next year’s competition. Peru returns to such World tournament after 19 years qualifying both the Youth’s and the Juniors’.

The top scorer of the match was from Argentina, Elina Rodríguez with 27 points while for Peru Angela Lyva scored 23.

With three berths for the continent for the next year’s world championship Argentina qualified already both the Youth’s Boys and the Juniorsmen and now expects to put also the girls at the same level.

The former volleyball player and coach of the Juniors’ and Youth’s Natalia Málaga thanked the exhibition of the local players and congratulated the Argentine team. “I am very proud because we fulfil our goaals and now we qualified for both World Championships”.

While Sol Piccolo, Argentine captain prized the work done by her playing mates. “I am saatisfied and proud because the team did its most and we still have the chance to qualify for the World Championship”.
