Japan’s Suntory Sunbirds bounced back from semifinal disappointment to earn bronze at the inaugural AVC Men’s Champions League, sweeping Iran’s Foolad Sirjan in straight sets: 25-15, 25-15, 25-19.
Dmitriy Muserskiy powered the win with 20 points, including four aces and 15 kills. Alain De Armas added 10, while Ran Takahashi chipped in nine. Foolad’s top scorer, Mohsen Delavari, finished with 14.
“We reset our mindset and gave everything for this match,” said Takahashi. “It’s a meaningful victory.”
