Tianjin vs. Shanghai
Title holders Tianjin, who suffered only one defeat in first stage, barely survived a two-hour-long scare from Shanghai, charging the fact they were in constant result initiative 3-2 (25-16, 19-25, 25-23, 16-25, 16-14). Cuban Nancy Carrillo with 31 and Chen Liyi wit 18 points led Tianjin’s attack at Top 8 opening. Canadian Sarah Pavan and Czech Helena Havelková were the most efficient players in Shanghai with 25 and 20 points respectively.
Jiangsu (Zhang Changning 16 points) and Beijing (American Kelsey Robinson 15 points) achieved straight-set wins on road, while Zhejiang prevailed over hosts Ba’yi 3-1 with 20 points from Li Jing.
