WCH 2018 W: Zhu Ting leads China to another straight-set win, Thailand confident to reach 2-0 as well

China and Thailand improved their record on the Day 2 of the Asian Qualification Tournament for the 2018 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Championship.

China and Thailand reached 2-0 record in the Asian Qualifiers for the 2018 World Champs in Japan.

In Pool A in Almaty, the Chinese National Team achieved the second straight-set win. This time, the tournament hosts Kazakhstan were their victim, 25-14, 25-19, 25-15. Zhu Ting topped the winning side with 18 points. Australia outplayed Fiji 3-0 to reach 1-1.

In Pool B in Nakhon Pathom, a host nation Thailand downed Vietnam 3-0 (25-17 25-17 25-17) which was their second straight-set victory in the tournament. Ajcharaporn Kongyot led the Thai NT with 14 points. North Korea prevailed over Iran and returned to the race for the spot in the World Championship as they have 1-1.

The Asian Qualifiers are played by the single round-robin system after which the two best teams from each pool will secure a berth in the 2018 World Championship.
