The second seed Sada Cruzeiro Vôlei fixed a bad first impression from the opening game of the Superliga Cimed 2018-2019 playoff quarterfinals against Copel Telecom Maringá Vôlei (3-2) and this time prevailed over No.7 side without losing a single set: 25-19, 25-21, 25-17. Thus, the Contagem based team advanced to the semifinals by sweeping their rivals. Just like in Game 1, there was a tension on the court due to some controversial referee’s decisions, even after watching video checks, to which Maringá players complained. Cruzeiro middle blocker Isac Santos top-scored for his team with 15 points (four kill blocks, 85% excellent attack). American Taylor Sander was brilliant in reception with 92%. There were no players with double digits in Maringá, Hugo Silva made nine points.
The top seed SESI-SP will also play semifinals as they eliminated No.8 Vôlei UM Itapetininga. The team São Paulo beat their rivals in four sets in Game 2 to win the series 2-0.
