A two-time Olympic champion Jaqueline showed on social media an injury to her hip when she tried to save a dropped ball in one of the matches of the 2020/21 Superliga Banco do Brasil for women.
The CBV imposed a new type of floor for the ongoing season to which Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde outside hitter but also other players complain. The new court has received numerous criticisms – not only the colors have changed but due to the floor, players slip a lot as sweat stains are not seen on the yellow court, which has also confused referees in deciding whether players violate a three-meter line or not.
“Guys, I’m all in bruises. I went to get a save, and what happened? This new court, it doesn’t slide, it burns you. I’ll have to play with a bandage, protection on my arms, on my whole body. I’ve seen several players get hurt, when it’s wet no one can see because it’s yellow, and many can’t see the three-meter line. I’m all busted up. I’m going to have to play in armor,” posted a 36-year-old player.
She also criticized the colors of the court – yellow, with a blue background – which was an unprovoked change. And when it was changed, the colors should have been chosen the other way around.
