ℹ️ A revised competition format and programme for the 8th Finals and quarterfinals of the CEV Volleyball Cup and CEV…
Posted by European Volleyball on Thursday, November 19, 2020
Apart from the pool stage of the 2021 CEV Champions League, the other two major club competitions, i.e. the continuation of these competitions, in the Old Continent will be played in ‘bubbles’. More precisely, there will be four ‘bio-secure bubbles’ per gender for the eighth-finals and quarter-finals, starting from December.
Each designated venue will host two eight-final matches and a do-or-die quarter-final in which winners of the eighth-final encounters will face each other. The format of the semifinals hasn’t yet been determined.
Such a decision to revise the format but also a programme of these competitions was made to “minimize travels and exposure to the risk of contracting the novel coronavirus”.
