Sesc and Osasco have already had several memorable duels through history. And today’s can be added to the list. The two clubs who faced each other in 11 finals of the national championship and formed one of the biggest rivalries in the volleyball world played the tie-break in Round 18 of the 2020/21 Brazilian Women’s Superliga Banco do Brasil regular season. Osasco prevailed, partially it was 25-13, 25-21, 20-25, 22-25, and 15-4.
Interestingly, both head coaches (Bernardo Rezende ‘Bernardinho’ and Luizomar de Moura) were unable to command their teams as they are isolated at home due to coronavirus infection. The result didn’t change the position of either of the two sides in the table – Osasco remained 3rd, while Sesc remained 4th.
Tandara Caixeta tallied 28 points on the winning side and was the top scorer of the game. One more player excelled in the match, also from Osasco. Mayany Souza set up as many as 10 blocks!
