BRA W: Sao Bernardo renews team for 2013/2014 Superliga season

Sao Bernardo is motivated for the next Superliga season, as it finished on the last place in the previous. The team announced the first news concerning its new players. Elis, ex-Rio do Sul, Sabrina Carioca, ex- São Caetano, Mariana Capovilla, also from São Caetano. Kátia, Giovanna and Dalliane Dias extended their contracts. The team will be led by Fernando Lacerda e Milton Serra.

The following players came to the team, Elis, ex-Rio do Sul, Sabrina Carioca, ex- São Caetano, Mariana Capovilla, also from São Caetano. Kátia, Giovanna and Dalliane Dias extended their contracts. The team will be led by Fernando Lacerda e Milton Serra.

Former coach of the team and currently the Secretary of Sports for the City, José Alexandre stressed the importance of sport for the city: “It is very important that the women’s team remains in town so that younger players might look up to them” he said.

Fernando Lacerda believes that the team will perform well in this season: “We are restructuring the team, trying to keep the tradition of Sao Bernardo in national volleyball and hope to achieve our goals in this new season. I’m sure that all these players who are coming and who remained will work hard in pursuit of better results” said the coach.

With plenty of experience, Katia is optimistic for the next season: “With each new season expectations are renewed. I’m sure that this year will be very different from our last season. I’m here in Sao Bernardo since the first season in the Superliga and I know this project is important for the national volleyball. All of us will be in pursuit of our goals.
