Perugia get false promises? Brazilian media report that Cruzeiro will host next Men’s Club World Champs

Did Sir Safety Conad Perugia get false promises from the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) in regard to the organization of the Men’s Club World Championship 2022?

Bruno Voloch reported in his blog that the current titleholders, Sada Cruzeiro, will open the doors to the next FIVB Club World Championship in December.

The news that the annual event featuring the best clubs worldwide will be played again in Brazil came as a surprise given that only a couple of days ago, Italy’s Perugia announced reaching an agreement with FIVB to organize the tournament. When Cruzeiro organize the Club World Champs, it’s always in the city of Betim, not in Contagem, where they are headquartered. And Betim received the last two editions.

The event in December (there’s still no definition of dates, but it’ll probably take place in the second half of the month) will count on the composition of participants different from those unveiled earlier. Brazil will have as many as three sides in the competition: Cruzeiro, Minas, and Campinas; allegedly, there will also be Polish ZAKSA, Trentino from Italy, and Iran’s Foolad Sirjan.
