The President of Perugia, the vice-champions of SuperLega, Gino Sirci, informed that the Italian club has officially requested the organization of the next Men’s Club World Champs. Furthermore, unofficially, it seems that the ’Block Devils’ and the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) have already made an agreement, following Cucine Lube Civitanova’s withdrawal from the candidacy to host the event, which should take place in December.

There should be six participating teams: the hosts Perugia, the titleholders Cruzeiro (Brazil), Minas (Brazil, filling the quote of the two South American clubs), the ZAKSA (Poland, European champions), Trentino (Italy, Champions League finalists), and the winning team of the Asian Championship.
