Brazil triumphed over Poland with a decisive 3-0 victory—25-21, 38-36, 25-15—in the final match of the group stage at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Sunday. The win secured Brazil’s top spot in Group B and the overall lead among the eight teams advancing to the knockout stage. In the quarterfinals, Brazil will face the Dominican Republic, who qualified as the second-best third-place team.

Brazil’s standout player was Gabi, who scored 21 points all from attacks. Rosamaria added 18 points, while Carol and Ana Cristina contributed 10 points each. Poland’s standout players included Magdalena Stysiak (13 points), Agnieszka Korneluk (11), and Martyna Czyrniańska (11). Despite a valiant effort, including a lengthy second set battle won by Brazil, Poland could not match the Brazilian team’s performance in the final set.

In earlier group stage matches, Poland defeated Japan 3-1 and Kenya 3-0, while Brazil won both its matches against Kenya and Japan without losing a set.
