China, emerging victorious from a competitive Pool A, defeated Serbia 3-1 (21-25, 25-20, 25-22, 29-27) to top the group. Li Yingying led with 28 points, supported by Gong Xiangyu (17) and Wang Yuanyuan (11). Serbia’s Tijana Bošković scored a match-high 39 points, the second-best individual performance of the Games.
