Unconfirmed reports from Brazilian outlets have set Turkish volleyball fans abuzz with the shocking possibility of renowned coach Ze Roberto (José Roberto Guimarães) stepping down from his position at Türk Hava Yolları (THY) Women’s Volleyball team. While THY has yet to release any official statement, the speculation surrounding the future of the decorated coach has become the hot topic of the moment, casting a shadow over the team’s performance in the Vodafone Sultanlar Ligi. It should also be noted that Ze Roberto did not lead today’s match of the 4th round of the Turkish championship, further fueling speculation.

Ze Roberto, who made a significant impact during his debut season with THY, led the team to top-four finishes in both the Turkish league and the cup. Expectations for the 2024/2025 season were high, with the team targeting similar, if not better, results. However, the sudden rumors of his resignation have sparked concern about potential internal issues or dissatisfaction behind the scenes.

THY’s performance on the court has been impressive so far, currently sitting fourth in the standings with three wins and only one loss, suffered at the hands of league favorites, Fenerbahçe. Despite this, the silence from the club’s official channels has only fueled further speculation, with fans eagerly awaiting clarity on whether Ze Roberto will indeed continue to guide the team.

As the Vodafone Sultanlar Ligi progresses and THY prepares for its next set of matches, all eyes are on the club to address the swirling rumors. Will the Brazilian legend remain at the helm, or is THY on the verge of a major coaching shakeup?
