In a heart-stopping match, Gerdau Minas pulled off a dramatic 3-2 victory (25-15, 25-22, 26-28, 24-26, 20-18) over Osasco, securing the provisional lead in the Brazilian Superliga. After dominating the first two sets, Minas saw Osasco fight back, forcing a tie-break where the home team trailed 2-8 before mounting an incredible comeback.
Kisy Nascimento (24 points) and Yonkaira Peña (20 points) led the scoring for Minas, while libero Erica Motta Lima – Kika earned the VivaVôlei MVP for her clutch performance. Tifanny Abreu (27 points) was Osasco’s standout and match top scorer.
With 48 points, Minas holds the top spot for now, but Dentil/Praia Clube (47) plays today and could shake up the standings.
