Brazilian Superliga 2024/25: Gerdau Minas Clinches Semifinal Spot

Gerdau Minas secured its place in the 2024/25 Brazilian Women’s Superliga semifinals after a thrilling 3-1 victory over Flor de Ypê/Paulistano/Barueri. The intense matchup took place in a packed Ginásio José Correa in Barueri (SP), echoing the same result as their previous win in Belo Horizonte.
With set scores of 28-26, 21-25, 25-22, and 31-29, Minas showcased depth and consistency. Kisy was the star, scoring 22 points, while teammates Júlia Kudiess, Thaisa Daher, Yonakaira Peña, and Glayce Vasconcelos all recorded double-digit figures. Libero Erica Motta Lima – Kika claimed the VivaVôlei Trophy for her outstanding performance.
Barueri put up a strong fight with solid contributions from Sabrina Groth, Aline Segato, Lanna Machado, and Luzia Vicente—all scoring in double digits. However, it wasn’t enough to hold back the powerful Minas squad.
In the next playoff round, Minas will face Osasco/São Cristóvão Saúde in a best-of-three series. Osasco recently swept Sesc RJ Flamengo 2-0 in their quarterfinals, led by Tifanny Abreu and Natália Zilio.
Elsewhere, Fluminense rebounded to beat Sesi Bauru 3-0 and force a decisive third game. Dentil Praia Clube looks to lock in their semifinal spot against Unilife Maringá.
