BRA W: Flamengo Saves Four Match Points to Shock Praia Clube

Sesc RJ Flamengo delivered a stunning comeback defeating Dentil Praia Clube 3-2 in a dramatic Superliga Women’s semifinal at Maracanãzinho Arena.

After dropping the first two sets, Flamengo fought back to force a tie-break and then recovered from a 14-10 deficit in the fifth set, saving four match points before completing the turnaround in front of 8,000 fans.

The victory levels the best-of-three semifinal series at 1-1, with the deciding third match set for April 24 in Rio de Janeiro.

Payton Caffrey led all scorers with 23 points for Praia Clube. Simone Lee-Wank scored 21 for Flamengo, while middle blocker Masa Kirov added 16 points, including eight blocks, to earn MVP honors.

The winner of the series will face either Gerdau Minas or Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde in the final on May 3 in São Paulo.
