„Our objective is just to keep going. We want a medal, we are not here for doing tourism. We are going to see how far we can go,“ said Schmitt.
His teammate Frederic Winters was more eloquent.
„It is nice to beat a really good team as Italy. We could control our destiny with a win so it was a lot of pressure for us. And they had no pressure, because they won the group. But we played really well and focused, mainly in the first and second set,“ stated Winters.
