The Cup of São Paulo, a friendly tournament in which three teams have taken part (Sesi-SP, Corinthians Guarulhos, and São José dos Campos), attracted the attention of the volleyball fans in Brazil due to the fact that legendary libero, a two-time Olympic and FIVB World Championship winner, Sérgio Santos ’Serginho’ made his debut for the newly formed club Corinthians Guarulhos. Besides Serginho, who also serves a s a captain, another big star of the Brazilian volleyball debuted for this team in the tournament – Riad Ribeiro.

But, Sesi, who were led on the court by famous setter William Arjona (came from Sada Cruzeiro Vôlei this summer) beat Corinthians in the finals by 3-1 (25-23, 25-14, 23-25, 25-15) to defend the trophy they won in 2016 over Funvic Taubaté.
