In Round 9 of Superliga, the defending champions Sesc prevailed over tough rivals Camponesa/Minas on the road to level with Praia at the top of the rankings. Now both sides have 9-0 but with Praia having one point more (27 to 26). Hence they are No.1 at the moment, one round before the end of the first stage of the regular season.
For the first time upon coming to replace injured Gabriella Guimarães ‘Gabi Guimarães’, a month ago, Yonkaira Peña highlighted Sesc. An international from the Dominican Republic made 18 points. Priscila Daroit ‘Pri Daroit’ and American Destinee Hooker collected 13 points each for Minas, who are at 5-4.
