Maurício Borges, one of the key players for Brazil in 2018 underwent surgery of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee which is the injury that he sustained in the Final Six of the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Nations League.

The doctor who operated Maurício estimated that a player will return to the court in six months. It means that an outside hitter will definitely miss the 2018 FIVB World Championships in September.

Maurício got injured in the match against France (2-3) in the Final Six opening and then returned to Brazil, doing physical therapy, but could not avoid surgery.

I did not know about this. This is a serious thing. Then, why others risked, if they knew? Being smart just to show you are right, is not the good solution. I am powerless.
