United Volleys vs. Zenit Kazan
It is well known that the team from Kazan has already claimed the spot in the quarterfinal and this is only a confirmation of it. In a game against the German side, Zenit Kazan let the rival win one set and that was everything we saw from the home side.
Maxim Mikhaylov didn’t even travel to Germany and the 23-year old player got the chance to play. Andrey Surmachevckiy again took the opportunity and won 21 points, while Earvin Ngapeth contributed with 19.
Gdansk have made a big step since they booked the quarterfinal spot after beating PGE Skra Belchatow in the tie-break. With this victory, they are staying in the first place in Pool B and they will stay in that place even after the last round, which means they will advance to the next round.
Skra have suffered, believe it or not, the sixth consecutive defeat, counting all competition. This one got them close to the elimination from the champions league, they will have to take the victory in the last round to keep hopes for it.
In this game, Maciej Muzaj was the most dominant player in the home team with 21 points, while Renee Teppan had 28 on the other side…
