The Netherlands are the clear-cut favorites in Pool C and they proved it today by beating Romania 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-9). Celeste Plak and Yvon Belien were the best scorers on the winning side with 13 points each.
Azerbaijan scored a very important win even thought the European Championship has just started. They beat Croatia in a very uncertain game 3-2, to increase the chances for taking one of the first two sets.
Yelizaveta Samodova was the best scorer in Azerbaijan with 28 points, while Polina Rahimova added 16. In Croatia, Samantha Fabris scored 31 points.

Croatia – Azerbaijan 2-3 (13-25, 25-20, 25-22, 24-26, 15-17)
Netherlands – Romania 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-9)
