HAOK Mladost Zagreb and Mladost Ribola Kastela played an exciting game of five sets in the first round in Zagreb. Mladost Ribola Kastela surprised in MEVZA opening game and defeated HAOK Mladost Zagreb 3-2 (25-20, 27-25, 19-25, 20-25, 15-10).
Marino Marelic was the top scorer with 25 points for HAOK Mladost.
In OK Mladost Ribola Kastela, Ivan Matokovic with 24 and Ivan Zeljkovic with 18 points scored were the best scorers.
Austria’s top teams, 2019 MEVZA League runners-up, SK Zadruga Aich/Dob and Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel played national derby in JUFA-Arena. SK Zadruga Aich/Dob despite losing the first set, played better and won the game 3-1 (14-21, 25-20, 25-19, 31-29).
In Ljubljana, reigning MEVZA League champions ACH Volley Ljubljana were defeated by Calcit Volley Kamnik 0-3 (23-25, 24-26, 22-25).
Jan Pokersnik with 13 points was the top scorer for ACH Volley. In Calcit Volley Zupan Stembergar scored 13 and Milos Hebda added 12 points.
