In a duel of the two Champions League debutants, Hungarian side Vasas dominated over Partizani from Albania, giving their contribution to one of the most important national holidays – the National Day: 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-16). This means that the team coached by the Pole Jakub Głuszak can even afford to lose by a 3-2 in the rematch in the Albanian capital on October 31 and still qualify to the group stage as the first team from Hungary.

Kata Török top-scored for Vasas with 19 points, while Slovakian Romana Hudecová made 12 for Partizani.
