ŁKS successfully opened their 2020 CEV Champions League campaign but only after playing five sets against German titleholders Stuttgart: 3-2 (16-25, 25-22, 25-19, 16-25, 15-10) in 115 minutes.
The entrance of the veteran opposite hitter Izabela Kowalińska in the finish of the fourth set turned out to be crucial for the win of the home side as she was unstoppable in the tie-break. She finished the match with 11 points. Monika Bociek top-scored for ŁKS with 17 points. As for Stuttgart, American Krystal Rivers chipped in with 26 points, while Croatian Martina Šamadan set up 7 kill blocks.
