The Czech side Prostějov was so close to turning around the 3-2 defeat against Belgian Asterix from the first leg of the 16th finals. Prostějov played the first two sets of the rematch furiously, taking the lead in sets of 2-0. But then, everything went downhill for the hosts and the rest of the two-hour drama belonged to Asterix: 3-2 (17-25, 16-25, 25-19, 25-18, 15-11).

Italian duo Unet e-work Busto Arsizio and Saugella Monza repeated the sweeping of rivals VK UP Olomouc and Orbita ZNU Zodush Zaporizhzhya, respectively, to advance to the next round.

Mladost Zagreb recorded one more straight-set victory in the all-Croatian duel against OK Kaštela.
