The last round of the pool stage was about to determine a couple of things regarding the semifinals but only one was in regard to the spot in the knockout stage.
Prior to the last round, the Netherlands and Poland secured a semifinal berth in Pool A, while Germany was the only certain team for the next stage in Pool B. Belgium or Turkey fought each other for the remaining spot in this pool and the latter prevailed in a thrilling 5-setter and after nearly squandering 2-0 lead in sets: 3-2 (25-20, 25-15, 20-25, 22-25, 15-10).
Meryem Boz top-scored for the winning side with 26 points, while Eda Erdem Dündar made 5 kill blocks. Britt Herbots tallied 22 points for Belgium.
