In front of the 7,000 rival’s fans, Argentina recovered from losing an opening set against Colombia in the last round of the 2020 South American Women’s Olympic Qualification Tournament in Bogotá and progressed to the Tokyo event: 3-1 (16-25, 25-21, 25-16, 25-23). Before the match, both sides were leveled at 2-1 and 6 points, so it was a decider for the Olympic visa.

Argentina took advantage of their 2nd chance to qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games, as they have failed to do so in the International Qualifier last year. Argentina will join Brazil as the representatives of South America in the Tokyo event.
