In a derby of the first round of the 2020 women’s U17 EuroVolley in Podgorica, Montenegro, the national team of Russia lost the first set before overcoming Poland in Pool II: 3-1 (23-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-16). Arina Fedorovtseva poured in 17 points for “Zbornaya“. Nataliya Suvorova blocked rivals 6 times, while Anna Khabibrakhramova made 84 % reception (32 % excellent).
In the same pool, Romania swept Belarus.
Italy and Slovenia played the most intense match in Pool I. The “Azzurre“ prevailed in four sets, partially 26-28, 25-16, 25-22, and 25-15. Manuela Ribechi, a member of the youth team of Volleyrò Casal de’ Pazzi, top-scored for Italy with 23 points, of which as many as 9 came from the service line.
Turkey and Slovakia were confident in this spool.
