The match of the 2nd Round of the 2021 CEV Women’s Champions League qualification between Russia’s Dinamo and Germany’s Stuttgart is scheduled for November 6 on neutral ground in Winterthur, Switzerland. Previously, the encounter was postponed several times due to restrictions related to the coronavirus that prevented both sides to play an away match.
However, although Dinamo and Stuttgart agreed to play in Switzerland, which was the location about which the Russian side reluctantly agreed, the presidents of federations of countries from which these two clubs come sent a letter to the Aleksandar Boričić, the head of the CEV, asking him to admit both teams to the pool stage given that Finland’s LP Salo (they were to play in Pool D) withdrew.
The reason for such a request came due to the fact that Germany has included Switzerland in the list of high-risk regions due to the high number of new cases of the virus infection. Thus, the departure of Stuttgart for the match in Winterthur is in question.
