The main favorites in Pool B (Hadera, Israel) of the 2021 Men’s EuroVolley qualifications, Bulgaria, grabbed the 3-1 win (25-21, 20-25, 25-19, 25-22) against Austria, starting their campaign on the right foot. The biggest star of the Bulgarian team, Tsvetan Sokolov, highlighted the match with 17 points. Todor Skrimov added 4 aces. Aleks Grozdanov made 85 % attack (11/13), while Asparuh Asparuhov had 80 % reception (10 digs; 50 % excellent).
Turkey downed hosts North Macedonia on Day 3 in Pool C (Skopje) and are now very close to securing a berth in the EuroVolley. Adis Lagumdžija led the winning side with 18 points, while Burutay Subaşı served 4 aces.
