Even though they lost to the hosts of the Pool C tournament North Macedonia (Nikola Gjorgiev 24 points), Turkey (Burutay Subaşı 17 points) have secured participation in the continental championship.

Thanks to a better set-ratio compared to today’s rivals – both teams are tied at 9 points – the players coached by Nedim Özbey have advanced to the 2021 EuroVolley as No.1 in the pool. However, with a win, North Macedonia have also qualified to the main event as one of the five best runners-up. More precisely, as the second-best runners-up.

Bulgaria accomplished their mission in Israel. They will play in the European Championships later this year as they convincingly defeated Austria in their third match in Pool B. Tsvetan Sokolov highlighted the winnings side with 18 points. Todor Skrimov served 5 aces and had 80 % reception (15 digs, 40 % perfect).

Having 9 points on their account, no team can endanger Bulgaria’s top spot anymore, so their duel with the hosts tomorrow will be only for prestige.
