Grupa Azoty Chemik Police began to resemble a team that was quite dominant in the Polish Women’s Volleyball Championship last season.

After an unsatisfying first half of the 2020/21 Polish Women’s TAURON Liga regular season, Grupa Azoty Chemik Police came close to the top four in the charts. The reigning champions defeated the second better-ranked side in just four days. After beating the leaders Developres SkyRes Rzeszów, the team coached by Turkish Ferhat Akbaş prevailed over third-placed ŁKS Commercecon Łódź in Round 16: 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-20).

It was Chemik’s 5th successive win to which they were led by Serbian Jovana Brakočević-Canzian and Greek Olga Strantzali (14 points apiece). The former set up 4 blocks, just as her teammate Agnieszka Kąkolewska. Katarzyna Zaroślińska-Król was the only player in double digits in scoring on the losing side (10 points).
