Italy’s A. Carraro Imoco Conegliano scored the 5th straight-set victory in Pool B of the 2021 Women’s Champions League and advanced to the quarterfinals as the first team to do so this season. Tonight, the Serie A leaders defeated hosts VB Nantes. Partially, it was 25-20, 25-20, and 26-24. Paola Egonu top-scored the winners with 21 points, while Monica De Gennaro had 88 % reception (16 digs, 1 error, 75 % excellent).

Imoco have mathematically ensured the No.1 in the pool, becoming unreachable to Turkey’s Fenerbahçe Opet İstanbul ahead of their mutual encounter on the last day of the competition. Even in case ‘Fener’ sweep Italians tomorrow and tie with them at 4-1 and 15 points, the set-ratio will go in favor of Imoco, meaning they will keep No.1 in the pool and advance to the next stage.
