Poland’s Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle defeated Turkey’s Fenerbahçe HDI İstanbul on the penultimate day of the Pool A tournament of the 2021 Men’s Champions League in Bełchatów (Poland). It was a duel of the two leaders of their respective home championships in which the team coached by Serbian Nikola Grbić prevailed in straight sets: 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-18).
Thus, ZAKSA ensuring its promotion to the next round, i.e. quarterfinals, of the Champions League as the first team to do so this season. Kamil Semeniuk top-scored the Kędzierzyn-Koźle club with 13 points. Aleksander Śliwka made 92 % attack (11/12).
ZAKSA have 2 wins and 4 points more than the vice-leaders and also the countrymen PGE Skra Bełchatów, with only one more day of the competition to be held.
