The titleholders Igor Gorgonzola Novara beat Turkey’s Fenerbahçe Opet İstanbul by a 3-1 (25-16, 25-18, 16-25, 25-11) in the rematch of the quarterfinals of the 2021 Women’s Champions League. Thus, the team coached by Stefano Lavarini scheduled a duel against big rivals from the home country, A.Carraro Imoco Conegliano, in the penultimate step of the strongest club competition in the Old Continent.

Novara secured promotion to the semis by taking the first 2 sets before their head coach gave room for backups. Belgian Britt Herbots was the top scorer on the winning side with 11 points. Cuban Melissa Vargas notched 17 points on the losing side.

Imoco gave absolutely no chance to Savino Del Bene Scandicci in the 2nd leg. After 3-2 from the first match, Davide Santarelli’s ladies swept their Serie A rivals by a 3-0 and recorded the 52nd win in a row in all competitions. Paola Egonu stood out on the winning side with 16 points. American Kimberly Hill had 83 % reception (67 % excellent). The Pole Magdalena Stysiak scored 13 points for Scandicci, while Bulgarian Elitsa Vasileva made 85 % reception (13 digs, 46 % excellent).
