Turkish powerhouse took France’s Béziers Angels more seriously in the rematch of the semifinals than in the 1st leg when they suffered a surprising defeat in 5 sets. At home, ‘The Lionesses’ stormed past their rivals, leaving them at single digits in the 2nd set: 3-0 (25-23, 25-9, 25-21). Russian Tatiana Kosheleva top-scored Galatasaray with 18 points. Argentine Paula Yamila Nizetich and American Malina Terrell put down 11 points apiece on the losing side, while Alexandra Rochelle made 76 % reception (33 digs, 4 errors, 52 % excellent).
The Turkish club will face Italy’s Monza in the gold medal duel.
